Star Wars D20 Revised Session 10

Fra'll, Terrance and I are in the shuttle on our way to the surface of Korriban.  Initial scans report that there is no technology on the planet.  Rumors say that the planet is dead.  When we get closer to the planet, I am able to see the force, swirling around the planet like the swirls of an oily bubble.  When we get inside the planets atmosphere, we notice a flock of birds the size of pterodactyls.  Coming in vertically because of a dust storm with gigantic lightning bolts.  We level out at the last second and head for a valley between two peaks.  The peaks are giant statues carved into the mountainside depicting robed figures with Sith battlemasks on and are wielding unlit lightsabers.  Strange markings decorate these gargantuan stone carvings.  The walls of the valley are approximately 60 meters tall.  We had to rotate the ship to a vertical position in order to leave at the end of the valley, bank left and set down.  The ship's readings say one cave entrance in front of us and three cave entrances on the right.  We leave the ship and head for the one cave entrance directly in front of us.  Inside, the cave is pitch black.  Terrance pulls out a glow rod and calls the cave a 'tomb.'  We do see three sarcophagi with the same carvings as the statues outside.  We follow the wall to the left, but on the wall are murals.
"When in doubt, always go left."
Tomb inside cave entrance.

The first mural depicts a battle scene with blasters, droids, Siths and Jedi.  It extends around the corner.  The scene is huge and takes up three wall spaces.  I refer to this mural as one, two and three.  The next mural shows two prominent figures, one Sith and one Jedi.  I say that this mural is mural number four because it comes right after one, two and three.  Mural five and six depict a space battle with a X-wing and a Sith fighter.  Mural seven is a huge depiction of the planet of Korriban.

When we were in front of mural four I became incredibly sleepy and passed out.

When I awoke, Terrance looked like he just woke up as well, I asked Fra'll why he's whispering.  He motions toward the far corner and I look.  I see a little girl that looks exactly like my Master's daughter.  She is just staring into the corner.  A little while later, a young boy comes out and stares forward.  The little girl lit a torch that lit all the other torches around the room before he emerged.  The young boy opens the coffin in front of him and a older human girl gets out.  My Master's daughter look-alike opens the coffin perpendicular to the one the young human boy opened and another older human boy gets out.  Then they all leave down the corridor where the two had originally come from.

We started searching for triangle pieces inside the coffins.  Inside coffin one was a skeleton, the second coffin contained a young Rodian boy who I thought was dead, but Fra'll said he was breathing shallowly.  The third coffin had a skeleton and a triangle piece that radiated the force.  The fourth coffin had a young Twi'lek girl still breathing inside.

Behind the mural of a tomb, with three Sith statues on either side was a secret entrance.  On closer inspection, the statues could have their fronts removed and behind the facade were Jedi statues instead of Sith which radiated the light side of the force.  The statue next to the secret entrance had a keypad.  I entered 'hello', 'open', and finally 'ghost in the machine' like it was written before.  The secret door opened and a light inside turned on illuminating the completely metal hallway.  We move forward and the light follows our movement.  We get to the end of the hallway and the entrance closes behind us and the room in front of us lights up.  Inside, there are two coffins.  The first coffin has a white force crystal inside with dancing white light inside of the crystal.  The second coffin contains a black force crystal with dark light dancing inside.  I take the crystals.  We leave the same way we came in after seeing that there is no other way to leave.  There is a keypad by the entrance and use it to open the door and exit the hallway.

We then proceed to find where the four individuals had gone to.  We check the other two coffins before departing, but they are empty.  We enter a carved in stone hallway and follow it carefully.  We come to the entrance of a cavern that has a spiral ramp that goes down about forty or fifty meters.  There is a big guy walking around and we notice the three of the four people we saw earlier are holding the remaining triangles we need while my Master's daughter, which by this time I'm pretty sure it is actually her, is holding onto four lightsabers.  The big guy suddenly chops off the head of the little boy.  I start running down the ramp thinking to stop this profane ritual.  The big guy notices us and he uses fear on us, but too soon.  I continue down while Terrance and Fra'll make their way down as well since the big guy is out of range.  The big guy continues the ritual and chops the head off of the other boy and girl until my Master's daughter is the only one left.  By the time I get down there he is already going towards the little girl.  I step in between them and confront him.  He is a tough opponent and eventually he falls.  He stands back up again and in the process, I chop his head off.  We take the triangles and the lightsabers including the big guy's which makes five all together.  The little girl seems confused, but she follows orders.  I sense nothing but good in her.  Her eyes are glazed over.  On our way out, we save the two that were still in the coffins, the Rodian boy and the Twi'lek girl.
Cavern inside the tomb.

When we leave the entrance to the cave we hear laughter.

"You pathetic mortals, you have not stopped me, the Sith empire will rule again and we will meet again."

The entrance closes.  Fra'll says,"There is more than one of them."  All the tomb entrances close.  The dust storm is about to hit, so we climb aboard the shuttle and wait till it is over.  During this time I hide the five lightsabers in the cargo hold.

This is the end of session 10.  Come back and read Session 11 coming soon.  Until then, safe gaming and have fun.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 9

I notice the Captain has a slash from her left hip to her right shoulder.  She tells me that it was a parting gift from her daughter.  I heal her with the force.  While I was healing her, I noticed the White-robed figure walking towards us.   The mask that it normally donned was gone and before me stood a female approximately 2 meters tall.  The white-robed female is escorting Terrance the Scoundrel and the female or oriental descent towards us.  The Captain points at the Scoundrel while staring at the oriental female and asks,"How did they know to be here?  How did they know it was here?"
The oriental female responds,"Why don't you ask him since he's the captain?"
Captain Lyn Me says,"I am talking to the captain - Captain Tai Lynn."
The white-robed figure in one swift motion pulls the scoundrel out of between the two female captains and puts away her lightsaber and binds Terrance.  She then puts her booted foot on his shoulders.  I notice that the white-robed figure is wearing form-fitting leather pants or a body suit of the same material.  The temperature in the room feels like it has dropped.  The doors that we initially came through open behind us and we hear,"I'm here to play" in the creepy voice of Captain Lyn Me's daughter.
Fra'll turns to Captain Lyn Me and says,"Fine, she's your kid, you beat her!"  Right after he says that, we feel the whole space station outpost shake as a cannon blast directly hits the Scoundrel's ship nearby.  We all retain our footing, but we here an "Oww!" come from behind us.  We look and see that Captain Lyn Me's daughter has fallen down.  We act, moving closer.  I tell Fra'll to use his blaster to stun her since it worked so well last time.  All of work together to defeat the little girl.  Fra'll finally hits and she is stunned, but not before taking considerable wounds.

Later, after being debriefed, we are told that we must go down to the planet to recover the four missing triangle pieces.  We consisting of Fra'll, Terrance, and me.  The other triangle pieces were confiscated when Terrance was arrested originally, however there were four pieces missing which was deduced when we matched the writings on all the triangles together.  Other items were also recovered when he was detained and we looked at them in the lab, but two biological virus alerts later and it appears to be some writings and a piece of Sith battle-armor.
Picture of all triangles put together.
I apparently needed training to prevent the living dark side of the force to influence me.  The white-robed figure trained me using meditation.  After four days of training, Terrance prepared a shuttle and we were on our way to the surface of Korriban.

This is where we ended session 9.  Come back and read session 10 coming soon.  Until then, safe gaming and have fun.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 8

Day Three
Fra'll and I both have sympathy for the Captain and the situation she is in with her daughter, adopted or otherwise.  We went to see the little girl and she isn't what she used to be.  She is rude and crude while being down right mean.  The Captain pulls us aside and we follow her to an adjoining room.  She shows us a lightsaber.  It is the one the little girl used.  The Captain asks us if we know who the little girl's master is and we shake our heads in the side to side fashion.  We tell the Captain that all she said about her master is that it was a he.  The Captain then points to the red lightsaber and says,"Meet the master boys."
We look around we reply in unison,"Where?"
She points again at the lightsaber.  "This is the master."
I'm thinking that the Captain has fallen to this master, but that didn't happen.  The master is inside the lightsaber.  We tried to destroy it with my lightsaber, blow it up inside a space shuttle, but nothing worked.  The lightsaber persevered.

The following day the training room was re-opened and the rest of the week passed uneventful.  We arrive at a small space outpost and wait for my master.  We are greeted when we arrive.  We are escorted to our quarters, but on the way I see a human scoundrel being arrested.  I asked what for and the answer that I received was that he is being arrested for collecting artifacts from the planet and his ship is in lock-down.  I arrive at my room and fall asleep very quick.  I am soon awakened by Fra'll throwing a pillow at me.  I hear wailing coming from down the hall.  I go and see what the alarm is from -- it's the little girl, the Captain's daughter.  She's still mean.  I ask when my Master will arrive and am told that he will be here at 5am.  I ask what time it is now.  11pm.

Knock on door wakes us, I am sharing quarters with Fra'll, but I am still dressed from before since I couldn't fall back asleep.  I had some really bad dreams.  I meet my Master, along with entire Outpost.  I looked out one of the bulkhead windows and saw four Acclamator-class Assault ships.  One shuttle from each ship colored blue and gold.  My Master, most of the Jedi Council, and Master Luke arrive.  They tell someone to grab 'the Master' and the little girl and meet in Conference Room A.

I then received word that I could interrogate the Scoundrel.  I learned that he was working for someone and that his name was Terrance.  He asked me if I had ever got to first base.  I asked him what first base was?  I was then advised not to continue.  I noticed that Terrance kept looking at his watch and right after the last time that he looked at his watch alarms started going off.  From out of the bulkhead windows, I noticed that a ship came out of hyperspace.  The ship started firing its cannons at the outpost.  In the confusion, I saw Terrance pretend to fall down and he rolls to his feet and starts running down one of the corridors toward the docking bay where his ship is located.  As he is running towards his ship, somebody hands him a blaster from a different hallway and his binders fall off.  Apparently, he is getting help from somebody on the outpost.

We make it to the shipping bay and when I get inside I get shot by some female.  We start fighting.  Fra'll gets wounded and I step back to heal him.  Terrance and the female run to his ship.  The Captain reaches around me after I tried to prevent his ship from leaving by locking the bay doors and she succeeds where they bypassed my preventive measures.   The Captain tells me that her daughter has escaped.  I asked her why she's here then.

She points at the Scoundrel's ship and says,"We need him!"

That is where we concluded session 8.  We have completed session 9 & 10.  I still have to write them up.  So, until next time, safe gaming and have fun.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 7

Day One
On board the space frigate, Fra'll and I met Captain Lyn Me's daughter.  The daughter had interrupted our debriefing on what had transpired on the Trade Federation Battleship, however, the daughter seemed innocent enough and looked like a completely healthy nine year old human child.  My master I assumed was the father, but the Captain was not the birth mother, since she is a Twi'lek, even though she was called mother.  All I knew was that the little girl could use the force.  After our meeting, which we informed the Captain of all that had happened on the other ship, Fra'll and I went back to our quarters and we were on our way to Toydaria in hyperspace; we let our new datapads charge.  I then heard a sound coming from Fra'll's room which was next to mine for some unapparent reason.  The room started to get cold and I could see my breath which was quite disturbing in the least.  However, I started hearing this slight tapping sound and at first I thought it was coming from Fra'll's room, but it wasn't.  The sound was coming from the window in my quarters looking into space and since I was sitting on my bunk I could not see what was making the sound.  I stood up and looking at me through the window and waving was one of the Gamorreans that we had previously met.  I notified the Captain, who seemed annoyed to hear from me yet again, and she said she knew because she was talking with one and that Fra'll and I should report to the bridge.  We left immediately.  When we arrived on the bridge the Gammoreans were gone, but they had left a message with the Captain.
She said,"I was told to talk to my husband, your master about changing our destination."
Fra'll, the Captain, and I were gathered around the holo-vid and we saw my Master and the White-robed figure.  The Captain then told my Master that we were told by these Gamorreans while they were outside the ship during hyperspace travel to change our direction and head towards Korriban.  At the mention of that planet I became quite ill.  Fra'll said that he had never seen a white Gungan before.  The reason for the change in destination had something to do with preventing something bad from happening -- like that's something completely original.  Afterwords, Fra'll and I retired for the day in our quarters and our destination changed to Korriban which on our current course would take seven days to reach from where we were somewhere outside the Tapani Sector.
Day Two
Early the next morning I spent some time figuring out how to operate the new datapad and found some kind of shadow icon on the screen, but then I heard a most peculiar thumping sound coming from the door. It sounded like a frog croaking -- thump-Thump-thump.  I opened the door to find a bouncing ball, but there was nobody around in the hallway.  Fra'll then opened his door and looked around apparently looking for the source of the sound.  He noticed the bouncing ball and I noticed his blaster in his hand.  I honestly don't think he goes anywhere without it.  I sensed the Force, a line clear as day to me appeared stretching from the ball to around the corner.  I started following the Force line and it lead me to the quarters of the Captain's daughter.  She was sitting on her bunk and told me that she was bored and wanted to play.  Frankly, I was bored too so I agreed to play with her as did Fra'll.  He must have followed me yet I did not hear him.  We, the three of us, went to one of the unused training rooms.  The one we used had weight lifting equipment.  We started well enough by throwing the ball back and forth, but she threw really hard; harder than a nine year old should, but I figured she was using the Force.  She then whipped the ball really fast; faster than I could see.  She then caught the ball and while facing the other direction she said she was bored and that it was time to make the game more interesting.  So I was thinking that we were gonna toss around the ball using the Force.  I thought little girls were nice, but this one must have lost the training manual.  She threw a weight-lifting bench at Fra'll and I , luckily he pushed me out of the way in time.  Her demeanor had changed and when she looked at us, her eyes were red and her lips the color of a moonless night.  Her lightsaber was red and she looked at us and said, "Let's play."
Fra'll and I ran towards the elevator where the Captain was waiting and as we dived into the safety of the elevator we barely escaped something large hitting the doors.  We left that floor and Fra'll and I grabbed our gear from our quarters.  I vowed never again to be without my lightsaber.  We then started to develop a plan to trap the little girl, but that would take to long.  The ship was somehow stuck in some kind of stasis within hyperspace and we needed to get going.  We needed to scout out what had happened down there though.  The videos of her were not pleasant.  Fra'll and I were elected to go and stop her by stunning her.  We had deactivated everything on her level so we reactivated the elevator and Fra'll and I went down to that level.  When the doors opened, the sheer amount of blood and body parts in the hallway was enough for both of us to lose our stomachs repeatedly.  The blood on the floor was easily about an inch deep.  We made our way to one of the rooms where I saw the lines of Force go in.  Fra'll was behind me.  While I tried getting the door opened, which was only halfway so we had to squeeze to get in, Fra'll was busy attracting the attention of some droids she had corrupted.  By the time Fra'll had destroyed one droid; five more had given us their attention.  We defeated them quite easily, however that short-lived victory was met with some other growls of agony.  When we turned back down the hall where the little girl was, one of the Gammoreans was tromping towards us.  Apparently it had come out of the door of the room opposite the one the little girl was in.  We turned to engage the Gamorrean and met him not far from the door he had left, but in the room the little girl was in, another larger Gamorrean came out, he had bent the door all the way into the room and still had to squeeze out of the entryway.  I took the larger of the two, since it was swinging some kind of club and Fra'll took the other which was swinging a bloody leg at him.  I think he lost his stomach a couple more times than I throughout the gruesome combat, but we finally were able to dispatch the Gamorreans and when we entered into the room with the little girl, she had been waiting, it took a little while to actually get her stunned.  After we stunned the little girl, her quarters became the Brigg and once she was unconscious the hyperspace started again.

This is where we ended the gaming session, so until next time, safe gaming and have fun.

New Idea

So I just re-read a post I wrote awhile ago and it got me to thinking.  I actually re-read two of my previous posts, but that's beside the point.  Anyways, I posted something new in my Making a Rifts Worldbook Experiment blog that any avid Rifts player may find interesting.  By all means, read the post.  You can find the link in the My Link List section toward the bottom of the right side of the page.  I am writing this to inform you about this and the new post in my Alternate Rifts Rules blog as well.  Let me know what you think by leaving a comment.  Thank you.  Until next time, safe gaming and have fun.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 4 and 5

Warning:  The dates should be switched between this and the post for Session 6.

Hindsight:  The data disc we found on Torin Dol, the Kel Dor Navigations Officer, contained a Navi-computer virus and coordinates to a rendezvous point that lead inside Imperial Remnant Space somewhere between Dantooine and Garqi.

After retrieving the shuttle from space, it started deteriorating quite fast as did the bodies of the Kel Dor and the Yuuzhan Vong.  I ran on the shuttle quick to look for anything salvageable and found two duffel bags.  The bodies were completely broken down by the time I left the shuttle.  I called a medical droid and told him to analyze the bodies.  The Captain opened the duffel bags, and inside were heavy-duty metal briefcases.  Inside the cases were two glass tubes that contained some kind of liquid.  We had the medical droid analyze the liquid as well.

The medical droid reported to us later that the large glass tubes contained a virus and that the bodies of the Kel Dor and Yuuzhan Vong had been exposed to this virus as well as the shuttle that had been jettisoned into space.  The cases were put under guard by a couple of security droids.
Captain Lyn Me decided to land on Nar Shaddaa for repairs to the ship.  We set down and the land-crew started patching up the ship.  While Fra'll and I were going to go into the city, we happened to pass one of the security droids guarding the cases of virus that we had found aboard the shuttle.  One of the droids caught Fra'll's eye and he mentioned it to me.  The droid was a fake and happened to be an undercover Rodian.  We dispatched him and went and watched the security footage in order to tell what was going on after discovering one of the cases missing.  We noticed the Rodian in disguise as the droid talking to a Twi'lek that looked like The Captain.  We noticed that she went into the guarded room and removed one of the cases containing the virus.  We then looked at the footage of the bridge and noticed The Captain there during the same time period.  We called The Captain and asked her if she had a twin sister on Nar Shaddaa.  She told us no which we then informed her of what was going on.  We tracked the fake captain to the area of the ship where there was the hull breach and confronted her.  The real Captain joined us there.  We defeated her and a couple other of her cronies that attacked us.  Afterwords, Fra'll and I were informed that it was our responsibility to protect the cases and not to let them out of our sight by The Captain and later by my Master.  The Twi'lek Sith had a red lightsaber and the human Security Officer had a data disc, a cred stick with 200 credits, a blaster pistol and rifle.  On the data disc we found the following: the chemical blueprints of the virus, a second and third chemical blueprint, a set of coordinates, a galactic map that was different than the one in the navi-computer and a locked file.  There was a partial file, but it was too far gone to retrieve.  The coordinates where for around the planet Eclipse.  The third chemical blueprint contained a note that said the following: be careful when you combine all these.  The locked file contained two folders.  The first folder was a picture of a dead planet/moon/asteroid.  The second folder contained the schematics for a rocket/missile.

The repairs being complete onboard our ship, we left Nar Shaddaa and headed towards Ison aboard the frigate.  Once we entered Ison space, Captain Lyn Me, Fra'll and I left aboard a short range shuttle with hyperspace capabilities and after the frigate hyperspaced away, we then made preparations to hyperspace to Hoth.  Once we were in orbit, we made plans to land on Hoth.  The Captain was flying, I was in the co-pilot seat and Fra'll was in the back.  There was a storm on Hoth, and we crash landed about 5 clicks away from the valley we were trying to get to after we slightly bumped on the atmosphere of Hoth.  We hunkered down and The Captain got to know me and Fra'll.

In the morning, we made our way to the valley on taun tauns after meeting my Master and Fra'll's Uncle.  My Master and Captain Lyn Me seem to be very close.  I noticed an Ion Cannon on one side of the valley and two large heavy turrets on the other side.  The secret installation was inside the mountain under the Ion Cannon.  There was a large set of shuttle bay doors leading inside from the landing platform that was in the valley.

Secret Base located on Hoth
The hangar is in a cave where we see all the Jedi Council except for Master Luke.  The Council leads Fra'll and I to a secure vault and we set our two cases of the virus inside.  That vault closes, than another vault conceals that vault while a third closes on the second where finally a fourth wraps up the third with two Jedi and two droids stationed as guards around the vault.  We were then lead to another room and debriefed by the entire Jedi Council starting from the message I recieved from my Master telling me of my mission to Toydaria to recapture the govenor of Corscant.  There was quite a murmur about that.  Apparently, my Master had given me no such mission.  We were then showed our rooms.

This is where session 4 ended.

After resting, we toured the facility and found almost everything was carved into stone.  We left shortly thereafter with a new mission.  This mission was to recapture the governor from Toydaria.  The Captain, Fra'll, and I left on a shuttle like the one we arrived in and went to a frigate like the one The Captain had and we hyperspaced away to Toydaria.  The ship and shuttle and crew were all new.  The Captain had interviewed every crew member this time after the debacles last time.

While we were traveling the hyperspace lane, a collision warning sounded and we noticed a Trade Federation Battleship coming at us.  It left hyperspace and took us out with it.  We scanned and saw a light on the bridge, the engines running and no lifesigns.  It rotated and jumped back into hyperspace and then we were back into hyperspace as well.  Fra'll said to stop and we stopped, he then said to go back to where it had jumped and we did and then Fra'll said to follow it and we did.  The battleship then stopped and we stopped.  There was no light on the bridge, no lifesigns and no engines like before when we almost collided.  Fra'll and I boarded the ship, everything was dark.  We opened the outside hatch and we were swallowed up by light.

That is where we ended session 5 for the evening.  It was a short game night.  Until next time, safe gaming and have fun.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 6

Warning:  The dates should be switched between this and the post for Session 4 & 5.

Fra'll and I are standing inside a doorway that leads into a hallway about twenty meters wide, and 3 meters tall.   The walls and ceiling are covered in about 3cm thick of frost while the floor is covered in ice with stalagmites about 5 cm tall along the entire corridor.  The frost gives off a faint blue glow that illuminates the corridor where we stand.  There are no footprints and the walls and ceiling are covered in handprints which on closer inspection are all from the same person and they don't wear gloves.  There are no handprints on the floor.

We entered the hallway and the door behind us slid closed.  The pilot on our shuttle informed us that he would wait for us to contact him.  While we were walking to the first door, we noticed that our footprints were being erased after we left that area behind.  This is sort of how the hallway looked:

The x in room eight signifies a hole into room nine and doors into the rooms were centrally located in the hallway.
Rooms on both sides are suppose to be approximately the same size.

Room one, cause it was the first one we visited, contained two astromech droids and one droideka destroyer droid.  When we entered the rooom, everything was frozen in place, nothing moved, and there was no power to the droids.  While standing there, Fra'll and I noticed that the light from in the hallway seemed to follow us into the room.  When the light reached the two astromech droids, they started up and left the room.  Assuming they were following previously established orders.  Well, we followed where they went, and when they left room one, the immediately turned right and preceeded to follow the hallway down towards room nine.  Each droid left individually.  The first droid, when reaching room nine, had no intention of stopping, but the doors opened and something big and fast grabbed the droid and brought it into room nine.  The second droid, which followed the same path as the previous droid, was also abducted into room nine.  This time, we watched closely as what we percieved as a metallic tentacle grabbed the droid and dragged it into the room.  We left room one before the light could get to the droideka.
Room two contained four battle droids and one service droid.  The service droid was in the back of the room, so we left before any of the battle droids awoke.
Room three had one droideka and one service droid.  Again, the service droid was in the back of the room, so we left before the light could activate the droideka.
Room Four had one worker droid and three astromech droids.  The worker droid was holding a box containing gold bars imprinted with the Trade Federation's insignia. I took a bar for inspection and placed it in my pocket.  He left the room after saying that he had to get this box to storage.  Fra'll and I after letting the worker droid leave followed it with our eyes to room seven where it placed the box.  I sent two of the astromech droids to get the main reactor back up and sent the third astromech to disable the hyperdrive.  The three astromech droids left room four and went to the middle of the hallway and then turned left.  We watched them go pass room nine without incident.  So now room four was completely empty and we searched the room.  I found a button as did Fra'll.  Fra'll came over and pushed the button I had found and the room started heating up and thawing.  I pushed the button again and it was turned off.  I pushed the button a third time and the room resumed heating up.  Before we left, I pushed the button Fra'll had found and it turned on the air vents in the room.  The room had power.  Before sending the astromech droids away, we attempted to activate the main reactor and disable the hyperdrive from the computer outlet in the room.  The droid was unable to do so.  We left the room and headed to the next.
Room five and six were stacked floor to ceiling and wall to wall with boxes.  Each box contained the gold bricks that we had found earler.  These boxes contained approximately 125 gold bars.  Five rows of five and five or six deep.
Room seven was about three quarters full of boxes.
We then went to room eight and found a large hole that went into room nine where the droids had disappeared into.  It was dark, but room eight was completely thawed.  We looked into room nine and saw a mess of machine parts and three astromech droids just lined up on the far wall opposite the hole.  I sensed the force in the room and noticed that the force was eminating from the corner of the room hidden from our line of sight.  The force lines were strong and stronger than me.  I peaked around the corner and saw a Neimoidian who had signs of dark-side power usage.  His eyes were red and his skin tight and eyes sunk into his face.  Fra'll asked about the other three.  I asked him what he was talking about and he pointed to the row of droids.  The droids were now also Neimoidians.  Younger by comparison.  All were still very frozen.  I moved to the one that looked dark-sided to me and killed him.  The others looked dark-sided to me as well, so we attacked them.  However, when we moved against them, they were already thawing.  Eventually, they used the force to cloud my sight and convince us not to fight.  They then looked not of the dark-side and the one I had killed looked even darker-sided then before.  We started talking with them, since they had also convinced Fra'll not to fight, and they told us that their names are Nardol, Alil, and Dinan.  Nardol was the older male and Alil the female.  We went to leave and then they were gone, like time had frozen.  Now room eight was completely frozen and everything that had been there was gone.  We went back to room four, but along the way checked rooms five, six and seven.  The boxes were still there.  Room four was without power and still frozen.  We decided to go to the central hub, the bridge of the ship.
Along the way, we discovered that all the rooms contained supplies of all sorts.  We found three rooms though, all containg new datapads, that were living quarters.  The new datapads were of a technology that we didn't know.  One of the other rooms along the way also contained boxes, since everything was in boxes, of these new-tech datapads.  Another room near this one also contained the empty data discs that these new-tech datapads used.  Fra'll took one of these and some discs.  I took some discs since I had confiscated two of the datapads out of the living quarters.  We continued on.  We went pass about 40 rooms on one side of the hallway before we found the main reactor room.  The engines had an energy shield, like the ones droidekas use, around it and the engine was humming super fast.  We left that room, we didn't see any droids, and entered the bridge where we found the Old Man.  He was sitting in one of the hover-chairs and he was deaf and blind.  I convinced him to stop his ship and through a person called Pilot, the ship stopped.  We communicated through to our Captain and I convinced her to bring a locator beacon which I then tried to conceal on the Old Man's hover-chair.  We then left, and while I was tracking their ship fine, when they jumped to hyperspace, the long distance homing beacon signal was no more.

This is where we left off, so until next time.  Safe gaming and have fun.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 3

NOTE:  The ship we are on is a Nebulon-B Escort Frigate.

FLASHBACK:  When we were still on Coruscant.  I received a message on the vid-screen in my room saying:

GHotH in the MAC hine (this last letter was also backwards).  Interpreting this as "Ghost in the Machine."

This message was accompanied by a memory I had about a ship, a Trade Federation Battleship, that appears out of hyperspace, rotates left and then leaves in a hyperspace jump in a random direction.  There is no Trade Federation currently, it was wiped out years ago.  The memory also mentioned two Imperial Star Destroyers that were found floating without crew.  One looked like it had been in a battle and nothing worked inside and no trace of blood or bodies.  The other was still in working condition, didn't look like it had been in a battle at all, but the crew was still gone, no blood or bodies.  I remembered about a fourth ship as well, where the crew had been brutally destroyed by melee weapons.  I don't remember what kind of ship this was, but Fra'll had a similar memory and he does know what kind of ship it was.

After the security officers escorted Torin to the brig, Fra'll and I searched his quarters.  We discovered another data disc under his bunk and a safe behind his desk.  Normally, the desk is attached to the ship wall and is not removable.  However, the safe had three locks on it.  One was a dial tumbler lock, the second was an electronic pad with sixteen random numbers on it and finally had a biometric scanner for either eyes or hand prints.  I thought maybe there was a clue on the data disc we recovered and entered it into the datapad that I had confiscated from Torin before the sent him to the brig.  I entered the data disc and all that was waiting was a prompt with a blinking square/rectangle.  We tried hacking into it once, but failed.  We did notice that the safe was pretty large and extended all the way to the neighboring room.  I didn't look to see whose room it was.  I used my comlink to call the Captain and told her that she needed to see what we had found in Torin's quarters.  We heard her coming before we saw her enter the room.  She asked, "What?"
I asked, "Are safes standard in private quarters on ships like this?"
    She replied, "No, why?"
I answered, "'Cause I found one in Torin's room."
    She said,"Where?"
I pointed out what only she could have missed because she wasn't looking for it and the desk was in the way.  We headed back towards the bridge and passed the neighboring room.  I asked whose room it was and the Captain said it was the Chief Engineers.  She said she knew him for years.  On our way back, there was an explosion, the ship swayed and the ship's intercom system reported a hull breach.  We ran to the bridge and saw on a vid-screen that it was one of our shuttles and Torin Dol floating over to the shuttle.  Attached to the shuttle by a cord was a Yuuzhan Vong.  The Captain issued orders to have a roll-call of everyone left on the ship.  Everyone was accounted for except the Chief Engineer.  Fra'll and I went to his quarters and found the back side of the safe open and empty, a broken data disc and a mask and gloves that made the wearer appear to be human.  We went back to the bridge, hiding the mask and gloves, and asked for an audience with the Captain privately.  We stepped into the briefing room, I showed her the mask and gloves and told her I found them in the Chief Engineer's room, she threw some chairs around and lost her control on the force which she used to fling the table in the room towards the door.

An alarm sounded saying to prepare for a hyperspace jump.  We ran out of the room, the Captain tossing the table aside, and I said to the crew to lock down the area with the hull breach.  They informed us that there was still crew in the area.  A countdown started with only ten seconds to hyperspace jump.  I tried to reach the room to evacuate the crew.  I didn't make it in time.  I asked the Captain how many we lost and she said five Gamorian soldiers.  During our hyperspace jump, another alarm sounded saying we had intruders where the hull was breached.  On a vid-screen, I saw the five dead Gamorian soldiers crawl back threw the hull breach from outside.  We battled them and the beings that re-animated their bodies said they wanted to go home, to Iego.  The Captain decided to force them off her ship and we dropped all but one.  The last one told his fallen comrades that they were not wanted here and that they should leave.  The fallen stood back up and all five departed the ship.  They did damage the blast doors, so we had to drop further behind to stay protected by the ship.  When we returned to the bridge.  We were out of hyperspace and somewhere in Hutt Space near Nar Shaddaa.
We picked up the our escaped shuttle with the Kel Dor Navigation Officer, Torin Dol, and the Yuuzhan Vong Chief Engineer floating in space.
This is where we left off for the night.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 2

I awoke early in the morning due to a sprinkler malfunction.  Then a voice over the intercom announces that they were getting the kinks out of the sprinkler system yet and that the sprinklers would be turned off soon.  After two hours of sprinklers, they finally were turned off, but then the intercom came alive again and said breakfast was being served in the common room.  I chose to go and get breakfast.  During breakfast it was announced that the Jedi would train and that the others would be in a briefing.  After breakfast, me and my master trained in one of the training rooms.  We broke for lunch.   Before I entered the common room for lunch, I was given a tablet with Fra'll's picture on it and I noticed him in the common room.  I approached him and introduced myself.  We then gathered our lunch in line and noticed my master chuckling and reading from a tablet before he went and talked to the same woman that I noticed earlier talking with recruits.  I think her name is Twilight.  When Fra'll and I left the common room, we returned our tablets/datapads and were given our first assignment.

Our first assignment was to go and get the ex-governor of Coruscant and bring him here to the Jedi Temple.  They told us a transport was waiting to take us to the governor's house.  We went outside the temple and found a taxi waiting.  Inside the taxi was a Wookie.  I asked him if I could help him and he replied in Shyriiwook that he was to be our transport and that it was his first time driving a taxi.  I got in and buckled myself in.  I suggested to Fra'll that he do the same.   We almost died a couple times on the way there.  Once, the Wookie merged into the wrong lane and a bus transport almost hit us.  The bus swerved at the last instant and the Wookie cursed him for going the wrong way.  The second time, he took a wrong turn and we ended up going through a building.  Fra'll threw up on me.  We ended our Wookie experience by exiting the taxi in front of one of the massive Starports.  The Wookie told us that we needed to go through the spaceport to get to the governor's abode.  I asked him for his frequency so I could contact him for our ride back after we completed our mission and he gave me his frequency to use with the comlink.  Fra'll took off in excitement, but was soon deterred by the security forces standing at the check-in.  We showed our IDs and were allowed to pass.  A little while later, I thought I noticed something following us, but I paid it no mind.  A short distance afterwords, I was hit with some kind of box from behind.  Fra'll got excited and I turned and saw a lightsaber user who seemed to be dark-sided in nature.  He was about twenty feet behind us.  Fra'll pulled his ion cannon and started firing while I pulled my lightsaber and went to meet him in melee.  Security droids were on their way.  He died pretty fast after I hit him with my lightsaber twice and Fra'll hit him once with his ion rifle; he did heal once.  He had a datapad and a lightsaber.  I used the comlink and informed my master to what had just transpired.  We had time to look at the tablet before my master arrived and noticed pictures of us getting out of the Wookie taxi about five minutes ago.  We dug a little further and noticed a lot of pictures of us before along with other pictures of almost everyone who was at the Jedi Temple along with some others.  It seemed that they were trying to use us to get to my master.

My master arrived along with a mysterious figure in white robes who had a voice equalizer so we couldn't tell if it was female or male from appearance or voice.  The white-robed figure told my master that we should continue on our mission.  So that is what we did.

We continued on to the governor's house, but when we arrived outside the spaceport we notice two turrets firing at anything that came close overhead.  Looked like some kind of scare tactic that the governor was trying to use in order to secure the governance of Coruscant again.  The path we chose had been setup strategically so that there was cover on either side of the walkway.  We were almost there when we were fired upon by guards in the two towers attached to the governor's house.  I noticed the front gate opening and decided to make a run for it.  By the time Fra'll and I arrived near the gate, we were under heavy fire from the two towers and the four guards who had come out of the gate.  We dispatched one quite quickly and we took cover behind the crates in front of us to heal.  While doing this, Fra'll noticed one of the crates said Danger: Explosives on it.  He opened the crate and found a fragmentation grenade.  He threw it at the other guards and we heard the tower guards talking and wondering if they had emptied the other crates.  They hadn't.  So the one explosion escalated into a larger explosion and when we looked again the gate was destroyed, the towers empty and a clear path through the gate was in front of us.  Apparently the crates that the gate guards were crouched behind weren't empty either.  We made our way forward and saw three of the guards limping into the house via the front door.  I notice some large windows and said we should go in through them.  Fra'll said that a person this paranoid would have them rigged so they wouldn't be safe.  A moment later, while I was contemplating this, Fra'll ran head first into the front door.  Not only did it give way, but unknown to us was that two of the guards from before were stationed inside and fired their blaster rifles at the door at the same time.  However, Fra'll hit the door with such force that it came off the hinges and he slid on it inside.  I drew my lightsaber and confronted the guards in melee.  I swung and missed and swung and missed.  He fired at me, but I got a swing in before he could pull the trigger and he was defeated.  The other guard stepped back from me and fired.  Fra'll then fired at him and I closed and swung my lightsaber.  He was also defeated.  Fra'll then searched the house while I healed my wounds.  I had taken quite a bit of damage.  Fra'll found a secret passage way, but it was rigged with a thermal detonator.  We searched the rest of the house.  We found nobody, but I found a handheld crate large enough to store weapons.  I placed the four blaster pistols, four blaster rifles and the seven power paks we found into the crate.  We had found eight power paks, but Fra'll grabbed one before we entered the house.  They windows were rigged with frag grenades, one on either side.  Fra'll had disabled one of them and he now hung two frag grenades from his belt with pride.  I used the comlink and told my master that we had found a secret passage and that it was trapped with a thermal detonator.  He said that they would send somebody.  After the person arrived, another person in white robes or the same person in white robes, we do not know, they disarmed the trap and the other trapped window.  Fra'll made a complaint about how the frag grenades and the thermal detonator were his.  The person in the white robes gave him a cred stick with 3000 credits and kept the grenades and the detonator.  We went back to the Jedi Temple with him and were told that until the governor was found, we were to wait on a ship in space.  Grab what you need and go, your transport is waiting in the garage under the Archive.  I gave Fra'll one of the blaster rifles and sold the rest of them and the four blaster pistols.  I received 2500 credits and transferred them to my cred stick.  We left on our transport.

We arrived on a starship in the orbit of Coruscant.  It was either a Corellian Corvette or a Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (not sure since the GM said corvette, but pointed to the picture of the escort frigate).  It is captained by a Twi'lek female.  We were on board for three days before we were told that the location of the governor was found.  Apparently, he is on Toydaria in Hutt space.  We set our hyperspace coordinates and we estimated that it would be a five day trip.  However, day 5 came and went along with day 6 and day 7.  We finally exited hyperspace since the coordinates were locked into the navi-computer on the seventh day.  We talked to the captain and apparently, the ship's navigation officer is missing.  She asked us to find him.  She described him as a Kel Dor and that his name is Torin Dol.  Fra'll and I went to visit his quarters and we unlocked his door after we received no answer from knocking.  The room was in disarray and it looked as if someone had packed a bag hastily.  Contacted the captain via the ship's intercom and told her what we had discovered.  She told us to head for the shuttle bay and keep looking.  We tracked him down near the shuttle bay, but he started to run.  We caught up with him and restrained him as best we could.  I then contacted the captain on my comlink and told her that we had found him.  Some security officers came and escorted Torin to the bridge.  The bag he had packed was emptied and we found a bomb inside.  We asked him to disable the bomb.  He said he couldn't with the binder restraints on.  We released him from the binders and he went in his pocket and pulled a remote, pointed it at the bomb and used the remote.  I thought he had disabled the bomb when I put him back into the binders, but then I heard the bomb beeping again.  Fra'll reached into Torin's pocket and pulled out the remote and a data disk.  I asked him why and he replied that he would rather die.  Quite dramatic.  The captain and the crew on the bridge disabled the bomb with a couple to seconds to spare, about 33 of them.  Torin was escorted to the Brigg and was told that we were in Wild Space and on our way back towards Toydaria.   We were told that the data disk Fra'll had recovered had a navi-computer virus and details on a meeting.

This is where we left off and hopefully will be back in one week.  I have a job interview on Friday and if I get this job, it will require 80% travel.  So until then, safe gaming and have fun.

Star Wars D20 Revised Session 1

Alright.  I know we have been playing AD&D for awhile and that game is still going strong.  All that is happening is that instead of every Tuesday it will be every other Tuesday and it will alternate with our new Star Wars D20 Revised game.  Jayson will be the Game Master for the Star Wars game and I will be the Dungeon Master for the AD&D game.  So, without giving a long introduction of everything, I will get to what actually happened in our first meeting for Star Wars.

October 11th, 2011

Step One: Character Creation

I have never played this edition, so I thought it best to wait for Jayson to show up in order to actually start, plus I didn't know which D20 Star Wars we were using, Core or Revised.  When he showed up, that was the first thing I asked him.  He said that we were using revised, but that the Core book had some interesting Prestige classes and that he would allow them.  I'm like cool, but I literally just got both books that day.  I asked him what I needed to do.   He said that I should roll 4d6, choose the highest three, re-roll 1s and 2s, and choose the best set of 6 out of the 3 sets.

Set 1          Set 2          Set 3
 10               14              17
 16               13              16
 14               17              15
 15               13              14
 13               16              12
 14               14              13

I chose set 3.  We could use the stats in any order.  I chose a Gungan for a race/species and they receive a +2 Con and a -2 Wis modifier.  So then my Gungan Jedi Guardian was selected.  I knew I wanted a Jedi, but I didn't know which one.  I selected the Guardian because of the +1 Base Attack Bonus (BAB) at first level.  So then my Gungan's stats looked like this:

Str:    17
Dex:  16
Con:  17
Int:    14
Wis:  11
Cha:  12

At this point, I didn't realise that all the force powers he could choose from were mostly Cha or Wis related.  Some were Con though.  I selected the Alter for the force training and selected Control for my first level feat.  Mostly so I can heal others and heal myself.  Better than medpacs anyways.

Being a Jedi Guardian I start with a lightsaber.  I also have proficiency with the groups Blaster Pistols and Simple Weapons.  I also chose to have a light blaster pistol, knife and quarterstaff.  I also received a utility belt and a comlink from my Master.  I also purchased a all-temperature cloak and a grappling spike launcher.

Step Two:  Backstory

My master found me on Naboo when I was young.  He trained me for years.  It was odd for me since my master is human.  He was in hiding since Jedi were being hunted, but since we both felt the disturbance in the force when the Emperor and Darth Vader both were eliminated, we traveled to Coruscant afterwords.  After we arrived, we headed straight for the Jedi Temple.

Step Three:  Introduction

Ever since I arrived on this planet all I've done is clean.  I was given a broom and a dustpan.  I cleaned the Jedi Temple til I couldn't clean anymore and then I cleaned it again.  Perseverance might be the lesson, but I am bored.  I want to go and explore, find things and tinker, maybe build a droid or fix a computer.  I need to learn to repair things though.

So I set out to explore, went up to see if my master was still in the council chamber discussing things.  I was stopped by a Wookie and a Cerean who said I couldn't go any farther up.  So I went down, saw that all doors leading pass the garage level were all security locked up.  Went up, trying to go outside, remembered that I shouldn't go outside alone, but in a group.  Stopped in main lobby and saw an Ewok, a Kel Dor and a Mon Calamari.  Asked the Mon Calamari if he wanted to go explore outside.  He said he had been waiting for someone to ask him.  On our way to the outside door, I heard the Ewok trying to sneak behind us and I waved him to join us.  When we arrived outside the temple, we had two directions to choose from.  Left or Right.  We went left and found ourselves in the diplomatic part of the city.  We stopped at a signpost and were trying to figure out where to go when a mysterious figure said go to your third left.  So we went to our third left and found ourselves outside the Galleria.  A pseudo-arcade shopping mall which went ten stories up and down from the entrance level and was quite huge (think Mall of America on each floor big).  The Ewok started talking, but I didn't understand him, but the Mon Calamari seemed to and I asked him what the Ewok had said.  He said that the Ewok had told him that Master Luke had gone to the Senate Building.  So that mysterious black-cloaked figure that I had seen around and masters bowing to was none other than Master Luke Skywalker.  How interesting I thought to myself.   While in the Galleria, I noticed a female Gungan and three child Gungan that called her Grandma, she was only a little older than my mother since the kids looked about 4, 5, and 6 respectively.  We met them in the water park that charged ten credits for the day.  I left and started looking in the Droid store.  After about 25 minutes, I received a hail on my comlink that said to get back to the temple soon.

When we arrived back at the temple, I saw a human woman talking with some Jedi and some other people who had arrived off of a transport.  When we walked inside, she told us that we would be leaving tomorrow and that we should prepare.  I asked her if we were to prepare for battle or for departure.  All she said was yes.  I asked if I would get to see my master before leaving.  She said that is where I should be headed now.  I went to my room, since that is the only place I knew and found a note saying that I should come below to the lightsaber training room.  The training rooms were above the Jedi library and below the Jedi housing.  The garage was below the Jedi library.  I reported to the training room and my master exhausted my so much that I couldn't move.  He floated me to my room and laid me on my bed.  The last thing he said to me was that the next mission should help me with my training.  And I slept.

This is where we called the night.  My character didn't meet Luis's character.  He has a Trandoshan Scout, but that is all I know.  His character arrived on the transport my character saw when he arrived back from the Galleria.  That is all I know.  Until next time, which will be this game, have fun and safe gaming.

AD&D 2nd Edition Revised Session 11

After moving on from the cemetery, we traveled towards the Temple of Gruumsh that we have on one of the maps we possess.  We arrived on the outskirts of the temple and I did a little scouting and found a village of orcs and the temple.  We decided to sneak in after Bram used the scroll of sending.  Through the scroll, we discovered that the mage was being held in the cave on the far side of the temple ruins and that there were some bad guys in there as well.  We snuck in hugging the wood palisade and made our way towards the cave where we encountered four Orog guards blocking the entrance of the cave.  While moving forward, a twig snapped under my foot and since they heard it, we were discovered.  We dispatched the four with ease.  We then proceeded into the cave, knowing that the ones inside were aware of our presence since one of the four guards grunted something inside alerting the other guards.
Temple of Gruumsh and Village of Bloody Skull

We made our way inside to see a cave with a 40 foot ceiling and nine iron cells, one with a large double door and one makeshift wooden shack with a door.  Since we knew that there were guards inside the cave, we thought they had gone into the shack and hid.  So we surrounded the entrance to the small shack and opened the door.  As soon as we did though, to cell doors clicked open and there were six other guards bearing down on us.  One of them shouting orders.  We fought them as best we could, however, I fell down twice, Bram fell down, and Nightwind died even after he consumed the whole potion of growth, but when his huge form fell, it knocked one into the fire and he burned alive.  Fortunately, his fall caused the one large cell that held the humans, the other cells held other demi-humans that were slaves, and the mage that we had encountered before noticed the door was unhinged and made his way out with two other humans.  The other two looked like fighters.  The mage made his way towards the shack while the other two tackled the one Orog while Ja'Lil battled the leader of their group.  There were only two left when the mage emerged and when he exited the shack he took out both the leader and the other Orog with a ring he possessed.  He raised Nightwind from the dead and healed me and Nightwind.  We then looted what we could find.  We are now leaving the cave hoping that Bram, who was healed by Ja'Lil, can cause a distraction with his wand of fire.

This is where we left off.  Until next time, good gaming and play safe.

AD&D 2nd Edition Revised Session 10

We started out by rewinding time a little.  While we were in the camp of the army we had cure disease cast upon Bram and Solon.  Bram had his affliction of rabies cured while Solon had his debilitating disease cured.  It took one week for Solon to heal.  We missed the full moon.  We then decided to search out the Black Tree Ruins anyways.  That is when we defeated the Ogre.  That is where we begin.

We decided to set up camp and Ja'Lil caught some fish while I, Solon, foraged for some berries and greens.  Nightwind gathered firewood and cooked a delicious meal.  We then set out and about one half a day later we found a place to start our search.  We noticed the lack of any game or edible anything.  I, Solon, created signs along the way so we could find our way back to this place.  We then headed back to Trynt.  On our way, we defeated a group of four ettercaps.  We made our way back to Trynt, sold the items we found in the Ogre's cave and decided to get cleaned up at the bath house.  I got an ugly, fat, human girl and was upset to see Bram the Oblivious, which is what I am calling him since he burned us with his firewall spell from his fire wand while we battled the ettercaps, who had gotten the elf lass I had last time.  When we dropped off our stuff at Korgle's we noticed a yellow ribbon on our door and a letter inside saying:

To All Members of the Security Class

We the Guild of Security have
changed the policy regarding
the telling of colors and have
decided to hang the ribbon
of the chosen color on your front
door.  However, we are raising
the protection fee from 50 gp
to 100gp per year.

                                      - Thanks for being faithful
                                         MANAGEMENT

We decided to go and check on our Paladin friend since nobody had been to his temple in the last two weeks other than us that we noticed.  Ja'Lil seemed very upset by this.  So we set out to the Shrine of Gruumsh, the patron god of Orcs, hopeful that we could find him.  Besides, we kinda were working for the army people.

We left Trynt the next morning and paid Korgle for the rooms and boarding of my mules for one month.  It was 10 gp for one month for us and 20 gp for the month for the mules.  We took our horses and went to see if we could find our Paladin friend.  We traveled the road and passed the encampment where the army had camped and Bram and I were healed and while we passed a cemetery late on the third day, we were attacked by undead zombies.  Ja'Lil turned most of them and slayed the one he missed.  We will continue on to rescue our friend.

This is where we ended the session.  Everyone is having fun, so until next time.  Safe gaming and have fun.

The Hiatus of Game

Well, because of work, Jayson has been working overtime and we haven't met in three weeks.  However, this will change and we will start playing again as soon as his overtime ordeal is over.  So, until I start posting about our adventures in AD&D 2nd Edition Revised again, I won't be posting much.

AD&D 2nd Edition Revised Rules and Hints

These rules and hints are for AD&D 2nd Edition (Revised).  Hopefully, I can actually start doing these on a regular basis since I play a lot of games.  Anyways, to the reason I am writing this.

The first hint is for DM's running giant rats and DISEASE in General.  If a giant rat bites, it has a 5% chance of inflicting a debilitating disease for each wound inflicted.  Meaning, for every time a character is bit by a giant rat start accumulating this 5% chance.  For example, say you have a fighter and a thief, the fighter is bit once during the entire encounter, but the thief sustains three bites during the entire encounter.  This means at the end of the fight the thief has a 15% chance of acquiring a debilitating disease while the fighter only has a 5% chance.  This is only one interpretation and frankly, the nicer one.  However, another way of reading this "wound" can be interpretted as one wound equals one hit point or hp.  For example, say the fighter above took 4 hp worth of damage while the thief only took three hp worth of damage overall (one hp worth of damage from each bite).  Now this means the fighter has a 20% chance of catching the disease while the thief has the same 15% chance.  This is just an example.  Now where to find this debilitating disease, well I looked in the Monstrous Manual (Revised), the Dungeon Master's Guide (DMG) and the Player's Handbook (PHB).  Couldn't find it anywhere under disease.  Then I looked one last time in the index and the effects of debilitating disease are actually under the Priest spell for Cure Disease when it's reversed into Cause Disease.  Cause Disease and cause debilitating and fatal diseases.  A third way to look at this would be to use the worse or best of the two ways or a combination of the two.

Next, some conflicting news on scrolls and spells.  Given the books I have, and I haven't skimmed them looking in evey nook and cranny for the answer, but I have looked some and I didn't see anyplace that said a wizard has to be of such a level in order to use a scroll, but he has to be of a certain level in order to memorize a spell.  The chapter on magic in the DMG page 61 has some rules on transcribing spells and learning spells.  There are some other useful rules on page 119 of the DMG which cover creation.  The most useful information on scrolls is on page 196 of the DMG.

AD&D 2nd Edition Revised Session 9

So we made it back to Korgle's Karriage and had some dinner and as Korgle was serving us he asked if we had heard the news.  We asked what news and he explained to us about the troop of men who had come through town.  Marched right through and only one of the three men on horseback stopped and talked to the wizards at the Wizard's Guild then walked across the road and nailed something to the door of the town hall.  We said we'd check it out after dinner.  We finished eating and headed towards the town hall.  Ja'Lil and I, Solon, were the only ones who can read, so we told the rest of the group what the note said.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye

To all who can read this message
within the city.  We are calling all
who are able to track.  All those who
are willing, meet us two days ride
North of the city.  We are camped
there.

Commander Grimm

We went back to Korgle's and told him what the note on the door said.  The message itself was on very fine parchment attached to a leather flap with an iron ring in the center which is what the metal spike nailed to the door of the town hall went through.  We stayed the night at Korgle's and left in the morning on our horses.  I left the wagon and mule team at the inn.  We have paid for ten days worth.

We left through the North Gate and followed the rode.  We came across some hiding kobolds, just three, and since they were trying to hide, we just frightened them off.  We then travelled further and rested the night without incident.  Before we rested, we sprinkled the salt on the old map we had found in Phrum Castle and it changed before our eyes.  The riddle of Shyvaltis is now present and the compass direction has changed.

that leads you down

The second day we were taking our mid-afternoon break and were surprised by a group of six rats.  I was bit pretty hard and I don't feel very good.  I feel very weak.  We continued on and ran into the men's encampment later that evening.  I was cured by a cleric there.  We exchanged information with the wizard and commander of the group by giving information we had attained from the maps we had.  The commander asked us to scout for the orc group, which according to him is like 500 strong.  We informed him that there might be a village near the ruins on his map which correspond to the Temple of Gruumsh that we have on our map from Grimml.  The wizard then gave a scroll of Message to Bram and was told to use it if we find the orcs.  We also got a map of the area that the wizard had used scrying on.  We spent the evening in the camp.

We left the next day and traveled towards the Black Tree Ruins, which isn't on the scrying map.  The Dry Well is also not on the scrying map.  We traveled the first day without incident.  The second day we encountered an Ogre, but he seemed pretty dumb.  We followed his tracks back to his cave and found some interesting loot.  He only had a couple gold coins on his person, but his cave turned up a gold snuff box worth 1200 gp, a wooden box with a set of real silverware worth 150 gp, a jade statue of Ilmater worth 4000 gp and a Ornamental dagger with an antler hilt and sheath.  We also found about four gems.

This is where we left off.  Next time we'll hopefully be at the Black Tree Ruins.  Until next time, game safe and have fun.  The following pictures are the treasure map from Phrum before and after the transformation, which isn't much, the map from Grimml on the treasure map area and the Scrying map that we received from the wizard at the encampment.
