This blog is to summarize my current gaming exploits. Either with games that I play in or am running or both. I like to write the blog from the perspective of one of my characters instead of just telling what happened during the gaming session. I feel this tells more of a story than just telling you what happened literally.

LFR - WTF
So, due to interest by some of my close friends, I have yet again been dragged into the LFR. I don't mind the game, would be better if it was a home campaign, but LFR is just as sound, I guess. The mod is written, usually poorly, and then we play our characters. I still have mine and now that I have updated my info with WotC, no problemo. So, the only thing is the time that I play should really be invested in looking for a job, or doing homework, or even studying for a test. Honestly, i could be doing anything more constructive than playing LFR, but I get to hang out for about 4-5 hours with some buds and play a game and goof off. Its relaxation time. I don't mind playing when its with somebody who gets me. I feel that it is time well spent. Perhaps in the future, after I finally graduate from college, i will be able to run said mods or even a home campaign. I really prefer Rifts, if I am going to do a home campaign though.

What's been going on
For all, Tuesday night has become sort of a tradition. We have temporarily stopped playing Dungeons and Dragons first edition and have decided to start playing Star Wars: Saga edition. My charactor, Keeg, is a Duros and a lecher and force sensitive. He is the most horrible womanizer I know. He started out as a Scout, but after rescuing some triplets, who happened to be Jedi masquerading as Sith, he decided to become a Jedi, so now he is multiclassed into Jedi and is the worst Jedi in existence with only an 8 for Strength and Charisma. We'll see what happens to him.
Keeg is in a group with two others at the moment, a Scoundrel, who's race escapes me right now, and a Soldier, who I think is a human; I will let you know if this isn't correct.
My Duros is a pilot, and a pretty good one, but reckless. As much as he is a lecher, he isn't into droids. This is a good thing, since he has a droid as his master right now. I nor he understand how this is possible, but that is going to find out in character. Anyways, I'll write more later.

Rifts: New Hope the way it is
The party minus Dr. Phd (Allen didn't show up because he was working), who stayed behind in Scottsbluff for some reason, headed out towards New Hope on the hoverplatform. On the way there, they passed Earl the Crazy with about 3 or 4 men who would stay in New Hope. When they passed Earl, the party was about 2 minutes from landing. Earl was almost there as well.
When the arrived in New Hope, the scene was dire. Half the town was in flames. There were bodies scattered all over the place and also dead worms, which were themselves over eight feet in length. Dirk, having told the group about his vision, was somewhat happy with the fact that his vision had come to term. Meanwhile, Earl and his men arrived on horseback and immediately rode to see if Earl's family was safe.
The group started looking around. Dirk, knowing what his vision had shown him approached the well. When he was roughly 200 feet from the well, Dirk felt a presence that was definately supernatural and evil. Dirk vision had told him of what was in the well; yet his curiousity still drove him to peer inside. Inside, he saw what his vision had shown him, was a skull, alien in nature, floating about 100 feet down. Dirk barely missed the imminent attack from the large tentacles that had b-lined right for him. Roger ( I do believe) had been carrying around the grenades that they had found earlier. Roger's insight told him that he needed to throw all of them into the well in order to save themselves from this monstrosity. Doing so, the explosion was huge, causing a minor earthquake that shook the ground fierce. Also alerting any nearby enemies to the groups presence. They looked inside the well, instead of seeing complete darkness and the floating skull, they saw just the cavern that had held the Hairy Jacks which they had not seen. There was no sign of the monster or the pitch blackness that had surrounded it. Small fires had started on some of the roots that had been dangling inside the well cavern.
Meanwhile, Earl and his group had noticed smoke in the distance and had riden out to see what was all going on. They had passed about 40 dead bodies on the way to the church. When they got to the church they saw that the doors were closed but not barred from the outside. When Earl approached the doors, he heard sobbing and weeping coming from inside. The doors were locked. Earl knocked; heard the cocking of a gun; he said hello. The door swung open slowly with a loud creeking noise; the preacher's son was sticking out a shotgun. Earl quickly difused the situation by asking about his family and telling the preacher's son who he was. After hearing that the preacher's son didn't know about Earl's family and that the evil that had come was about three or four strange figures kinda like the wraiths from before, Earl decided to go home to see for himself. He found his father dead in the barn, but he did find his sister and youngest brother in the root cellar. He found out from them that his two other brothers had gone into town to see if they could rescue their mother. Earl then took his siblings back to the church and had the men stay there to protect them and the preacher's son and his mum. Earl then b-lined for town as fast as he could on his horse.
Back in town, the group has spent most of there time looking for survivors, which is definately impeded by half the town being on fire. Earl found his other two brothers and his mother. That's when the shot rang out. They saw the one wraith immediately, on the other side of the well, but it was unclear if he had taken the shot. Another shot, another miss; this one from off the road to the church. Another shot from the wraith they saw; indicating that there was a third shooter somewhere.
The group took out the middle one first, but didn't get a good clean kill, so maybe one of the worms survived. They next took out the one by the road, Earl pretty much head shot it until it was dead from like two feet away. During this, the rest of the group, excluding Dirk and Earl, had found the third shooter who was posted behind the burning buildings. This shooter had almost killed Thunderheart, who is only alive from the quick thinking of blocking the shot with his bionic arm. This shooter dies quite instantaneously from Northwind Ironfist's bow.
This is where I decided that because of certain situational variables, that this game had come to a close. We will now be starting our other game which we had played previous to this Rifts game. Everyone involved enjoyed the game, so I will definately be running Rifts again. More than likely, I will be posting that game here as well.
Until next time, Happy gaming.

Rifts: Stavros Explains
The group was gathered around Stavros, after Dirk and Roger calmed down the horse teams with the wagons, and he began to explain the situation. Stavros told about how he had come to destroy the Imp and how this Imp was a battle Imp or soldier Imp as they are more commonly called and that it was controlled by the Necromancers. He explained that the Necromancers controlled the Imp and other beings. Stavros also explained about how the Necromancers worked for a man named Narg. He also told the group about a secret group that he was apart of called 'The Brotherhood.' Stavros then explained the situation and where to find Narg and his minions. He told them it would take two weeks to travel there and that the road was perilous. Stavros also told him of his friend, who knew of the location of Narg's compound and that he would lead them there. The friend's name is Northwind Ironfist. (Travis's new character)
The party then went into Scottsbluff and proceeded to sell the wares that they had received from the crates in the backs of the wagons. The items were all new and pre-Rifts. The list is as follows:
a total of 13 large wooden crates
Wagon 1 - 6 crates
Crate 1 - one gun cleaning kit
Crate 2 - 8 large cushions (very nice)
Crate 3 - 8 boxes of 30, 50 Gal. garbage bags (half black, half clear)
Crate 4 - 3 rolls of toilet paper
Crate 5 - one roll Duct tape
Crate 6 - 4 magnifying lenses
Wagon 2 - 1 crate
Crate 1 - 5 Cast-iron pans
Wagon 3 - 6 crates
Crate 1 - 8 car alternators
Crate 2 - one phonebook
Crate 3 - one 20' hemp rope
Crate 4 - 2 sets of silverware (real silver)(21 pieces each)
Crate 5 - 3 watches (Timex)
Crate 6 - 8 Fishing poles with reels and tackle box kits
They sold what they didn't want and made some purchases in town. It is now 2pm and they are getting ready to go back to New Hope.
Thus concluding our session.

Loot and Armor
***This post will cover the last two rifts sessions.***
Besides the seven individually contained missiles, the group also found 3 sets of combat fatigues and 2 dead boy armor (old style), three 20 gallon drums of drinking water, 1 hover platform, 5 backpacks, 1 satchel, 12 blankets, 9 weeks worth of food rations for 6 humans, one language translator, 4 more 20 gallon drums of drinking water, 7 hand grenades (frag), 5 C-20 laser pistols and one portable tool kit.
Enter the Doctor. Dr. Vance Phd (pronounced Fud, at least by the rest of the party).
The group decided to keep all the loot except for the 7 missiles and 4 of the C-20 laser pistols. Those were going to get sold in Scottsbluff. The group took the hover platform, which had been packed with the loot and they landed in Scottsbluff. They paid to park their hover platform and found shelter at a local inn.
(This part is foggy)
After the party awoke, a couple things happened in an order I do not remember.
1. The party found the armor repairer and discovered that they didn't have enough money to pay for the repairs.
2. The party accepted a job from Stavros after selling the loot to him.
3. Ralph took up rounding up stray lawbreakers and threatened to kill them if he found them on the streets again.
4. The party had to wait three days until the job and during the three days, the party did random things like Ralph in 3.
5. Dr. Vance did a whole lot of weird things. Like calling Roger the 'dirt mage'.
The day of the job had come and the party went to see Stavros, he explained that they could come back at 3 in the afternoon. Until that time, Ralph picked up something from the blacksmith, the custom vibro-sword that he had paid for. Dr. Vance tried getting something out of the blacksmith, but that didn't turn out so well.
The job took them north, they followed Stavros and his two Larmac bodyguards in their hovertruck. They passed a place that was unnaturally green and came to the desert. They awaited the arrival of three horse-drawn wagons. They saw Stavros talking with one of the people who had arrived. After about 5 minutes worth of talking, they saw Stavros attack the guy he had been talking with. The party noticed that this being was in fact a full conversion borg. While everyone got their first shots off, they noticed that the person on the middle wagon ran back the way they had come from, and that something evil errupted from that same middle wagon. They also noticed that there was another borg on the last wagon and running forward. Dirk and Roger recognized that the creature that had flown out of the middle wagon was a battle imp and was supernaturally evil. The group took out all three, the imp, and the two borgs. Somewhere in the heat of battle, Ralph decided that this wasn't honorable and took off. Combat was at an end.
Stavros said he would explain everything.
This concludes the story so far.
