Jayson's Second Session

11-30-2010

So we just get pass the gate guards and we see this huge city before us.  Beautiful.  We start heading down the street and end up following the queen.  Saw the queen duck into a door that was controlled by a fruit seller.  The fruit seller was of the same species as the queen.  He tried selling me a watermelon.  He wanted 50 credits for a measly looking watermelon.  I got him down to 5 credits.   Haha, nope, opened the watermelon and inside was an MDC message tube.  I'm like "crap," so I paid him a 20 credit tip cause I felt like an ass.  Inside the tube was a letter in American, at least that is what I was told, and apparently it was an invitation to the palace.  I'm like, "don't we feel special."  Anyways, we went and found ourselves a hotel with storage units big enough to hold my robot and Cy'tech's power armor.  Found one ran by a cyborg with a chainsaw for an arm.  Cool guy.  Only 250 credits/night.  We each paid for 2 nights.  We each had a rough and eventful morning, so we decided to take a short nap before going to the palace later this evening.  Traveling through rifts usually makes a person tired especially if it is a long distance.  So we took a nap.

When we awoke, it was already night time, like 5 or 6 hours had gone by.  Oops!  Anyway, we go downstairs and see the cyborg reading like an old Popular Mechanics magazine, but it was hidden behind some kind of other thing, don't remember.  So we say we'll be out for a bit, but we will be returning later tonight.  While me an Cy'tech travel through the streets, we notice that we are being followed by a group wearing hooded cloaks.  We go around a corner into an alley and get ready to jump them cause we ain't no bitches and BAM.  The leader happens to be a Seljuk, this one has a tail, and two other robed figures, one who happens to be Lanotaur.  They escort us to the palace where we meet the king and queen with their kids.  We stand off to the side waiting for special guests to arrive.  Turns out to be Coalition troops.  One Major Duncan in power armor, two full-conversion 'borgs, two SAMAS, and their "peaceful surrender" idea with a battalion of men.  I almost laughed out loud, or maybe I did, I can't remember.  The king and queen kindly decline their "peaceful surrender" and when the Coalition tries a hostile takeover, their weapons and equipment stop working.  Apparently there is a sort of magical barrier/field on/in the city that is keyed towards Coalition technology.  It just doesn't work here, but they can turn it on and off as they please.  So what they intended didn't happen and they kindly left.  I laughed out loud at that point for sure.

So, I introduced myself to the king and queen and to the female Lanotaur.  Got introduced to the royal prince and princess as well.  As the names go, here they are:
Queen Malinda
King Charlie
Prince Sarin
Princess Sarah
and Quin Quin (pronounced Shin Shin) the Lanotaur who is training to become a mage.

And for those who don't know how many men are in a battalion, here that is as well:
28 men in a squad
28 squads in a platoon
28 platoons in a battalion

We went back to the inn and went to sleep.  That is where we left off, the third session is coming next.

Jayson's Rifts Game Session One

First off, we have only three people, Me, Luis, and Jayson. This is Jayson's first attempt at running a Rifts Campaign. I am playing a Lanotaur R.C.C. and Luis is playing a Seljuk R.C.C. Luis's Seljuk named Cy'tech doesn't have a tail because it was either surgically removed or cut off in battle. Sato, my Lanotaur, was raised by a Worldly Sasquatch when found in Canada. Is originally from Japan and wears his MDC Samurai mask with homemade MDC armor. The Worldly Sasquatch taught him how to pilot a robot (It was only afterwards that I learned that he is way deadlier without the robot). So initially, I started out with something that Lanotaur can't have because I misunderstood Jayson because this initially was going to be a carryover from our Mech Warrior game (which is why I came up with the being raised by the Worldly Sasquatch because they can kinda pick up that pilot skill). Anyways, we got situated and we began.
Get magically transported into a cave via a Rift. See a Seljuk there. Ask him if he speaks American. Yes, he does. His name is Cy'tech. Two other beings are there, the magic on them is big. The Goddess, which is what she calls herself, tells us of a prophecy or something like that and it includes us and its our destiny, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, well according to her, the Megaverse is going to end if we don't find a bunch of crystals. Specific crystals that when collected will do something. Anyway, she tells us that it is both our destiny and that we need to work together in order to complete this quest and in order to find all eight crystals and that they are very powerful and the first one is outside this cave and somewhere near the city.
We get out of the cave and start heading towards the city. While in the forest before we get to the city, we come across a Homosapien. A D-Bee that is around these parts. She speaks American and tells us that the city is Washatch and she scampers off. We get to the city gates and are having difficulty getting inside past the guards. The same Homosapien comes up and the guards start acting wierd. Then the guards let it slip that she is the queen of the area. We get led inside to the Guild of ArchMages, they give us a map that shows travel routes from Ogden, Utah to Salt Lake City.
That is where we ended session one on November 23, 2010.
